MORE ABOUT US...

Dave Meyer, Tenor, sings the high notes for Déjà Vu. Dave’s current membership is with the Barbershop Harmony Society’s “at large” chapter but he has historically been quite active with the Upper Ohio Valley Chapter in Steubenville Ohio where he won a JAD Small Chorus Championship with Jon in 1992.  Dave has also sung with the 1985 JAD Champion “New Affair” as well as “Energetics” and with Jon in the popular quartets “Fireworks!” and “Heatwave” as well as with his church choir. Dave attended the U.S. Naval Academy and now works in industrial sales.  He is married and resides in Toronto, OH where he and his wife Lynn are enthusiastically trying to empty their nest of four children!

Jon Clunies, Lead, was first exposed to barbershop in 1977 (no, he was not two years old!).  As a result of the youth outreach program Young Men In Harmony, Jon got hooked on barbershop and immediately joined the Society while still in high school.  He went on to earn a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies (Music, Theater & Political Science) from University of Maryland in Baltimore County in 1984 and added a JD from the University of Baltimore in 1987 and expects to add a doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh sometime in 2005.  Jon is a practicing attorney and also is the Managing Director of the 1998 & 2000 &2003 JAD Small Chorus Champion Pittsburgh Metro Chapter’s barbershop chorus. Jon is married and, when not performing or rehearsing with the quartet or chorus, enjoys spending time with his wife and his two tax deductions, Boy Scout Dan and Super Jock Greg.

Steve Legters, Baritone, is a member of the Shenango Valley Chapter in Sharon, PA. A second generation barbershopper, he has been a section leader, Music VP and in 1991 was honored as the Shenango Valley Barbershopper of the Year. However Steve’s greatest barbershop accomplishment to date is certainly his winning the international gold medal with Joker’s Wild in 1994 before a hometown crowd in Pittsburgh, PA.  Steve is a graduate of Grove City College with Bachelor degrees in Business Administration and Political Science and recently received his MBA from Duquesne University.  He is employed as a Contract Negotiator for a major Pittsburgh area company. When not quartet singing, coaching or working, Steve plays golf, basketball and softball and still finds time for his wife, Julie, their son, Adam (a baritone, no doubt!) and new daughter Leah (hey, the girls can sing this stuff too!).

Dave Kindinger, Bass, is a veteran member of SPEBSQSA having reached a pinnacle in 1994 by winning the international gold medal with Joker’s Wild (and Steve!).  Dave is a past president of the Singing Buckeyes Chorus in Columbus, OH and has also sung with the Bowery Boys and Chordland Express barbershop quartets. He also currently sings Lead with the Buckeye Blend quartet. Dave is a graduate of the Ohio University and holds a Masters degree from Ohio State University. Dave is employed by the Columbus City School District as an elementary school principal. Dave lives in Columbus Ohio with his wife, Pam in the empty nest left by the departure of their three children, Laura, Brian and Julie.
